• BMR Features Defending Champ & Trio Of Talented Rookies
ROSEVILLE, Calif. (May 17, 2016) – The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West visits one of the most challenging tracks on the circuit this week when it rolls into the Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, California for the Sunrise Ford 150 on Saturday.
The historic quarter-mile oval is sure to test the talent of all the drivers as they run door-to-door around the tight, flat track.
Bill McAnally Racing features four teams competing in the K&N West this season, with defending series champion Chris Eggleston and a trio of talented young rookies – Todd Gilliland, Julia Landauer, and Riley Herbst.
Eggleston of Erie, Colorado, drives the No. 50 NAPA Filters / H2O Fire Protection Toyota Camry for BMR. He is coming off a third-place finish at Tucson (Arizona) Speedway earlier this month and is third in the championship standings – with three top-five finishes in the first three races this season.
Gilliland, who turned 16 earlier this week, drives the No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry. The Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, resident finished second at Tucson. He leads the overall championship standings and the rookie standings as well, with two wins to go with his runner-up finish.
Landauer is a native New Yorker who now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 24-year-old drives BMR’s No. 54 Toyota Camry. She is coming off a fifth-place finish at Tucson. With one top-five and three top-10 finishes, Landauer is seventh in the championship standings and fourth in rookie points.
Herbst drives the No. 19 NAPA Batteries Toyota Camry for BMR. He finished eighth at Tucson, giving him one top-five and three top-10 finishes this season. He is fifth in the overall standings and second in rookie points in the series.
Herbst is excited about seeing Orange Show Speedway for the first time.
“I’m looking forward to some good short-track racing in Southern California,” said the 17-year-old Las Vegas driver. “I’m excited about racing on a small track like this. We’ll be aiming for another good finish.”
With a strong start to his freshman season, Herbst wants to keep the momentum rolling with his BMR team.
“We’ve been able to put together quality runs and we need to keep doing what we’ve been doing all season long,” he said.
The Sunrise Ford 150, which will be televised on NBCSN on May 25 at 6 p.m. ET, is the fourth event on a 14-race schedule. Orange Show Speedway has hosted eight series events, but none since 1978.
